Christmas

From the start of “Walking in the Air” it takes me around 2 seconds to well up. I can’t recall if I’ve always been this emotional about the story.

It’s interesting that The Snowman has been shown both on British and Finnish television every Christmas since it was made. On that cross-border note, I wish you a happy Christmas and a good new year.

    Merry Christmas Kai,

I imagine its a lot more Christmassy in Helsinki than where I am at the moment – at work. Only two more hours until I finish and fly up to Sydney…sigh. I’m exhausted.

All the best and have a great New Years too!

P.s. I think I’ve seen ‘The Snowman’ – but not for a long long time.

P.p.s. I’m reading a biography of Mannerheim! (well a biography of ‘Four Famous Finns’ actually) Nothing gets you into the Christmas spirit like Mannerheim!

    Andrew,

Thanks for your well-wishes. I hope your Christmas and New Year are going to get better than that! At least during the break you have a chance to catch up on sleep and stuff. That’s what I’ve been doing back home now, mainly. Feels good. It’s not really Christmasy in the sense of snow and things, though: The temperature hovers at just above freezing and there’s no snow at all.
All the best for you in the New Year as well!

So, what do you make of Marshal Mannerheim? He’s a figure all right.
