BBC presenter on the torch lighting ceremony, with images of the Olympic Flame Relay appearing around the ring of the stadium behind the torchbearer:
“The Chinese people didn’t see the security clashes, the troubles [during the relay, especially in cities such as London]. What they saw was their olympic flame traversing the world”.
Yes, that’s what we non-euphemists call censorship, i.e. not presenting the full picture of what is going on.

The Chinese people didn’t see the violence in Tibet (Plateau China) nor have they heard about the tensions between Beijing and Taiwan (Island China), either…
I just had to say something in which I could use the official Chinese indoctrination terms for those areas…
